Stuart started fishing at the age of 4 and began tying flies a short time later by using cotton out of his mom's sewing kit and feathers out of his pillow.
Since then he has fished most of the rivers in Scotland and has travelled as far as Norway, Alaska, Argentina and British Columbia where he has become obsessed with steelhead.
He currently designs flies commercially for Aquaflies and Salar Flies and helps with tackle development at Loop Tackle Designs as well as Loop's Fly Tying Akademi.
His tying is varied from elaborate predator patterns to simple trout patterns.
Stuart loves his time on the riverbank but when he can't be fishing he is probably at his vice.
